Borrowing from the Turnquist Library
Two books may be borrowed by Museum staff, volunteers, and members. The Turnquist Automobile Library uses self-checkout.

Your Patron ID is your first initial and last name (i.e., jsmithson) and click the blue Sign In button
Click the blue Check Out button to confirm. You will get an email confirming check out and return due date.
Return books to the wooden box on the Library desk and staff will update your records.
Special Borrowing for Members of the Society of Automotive Historians
Please register with SAH leadership, who in turn will provide the Museum with your name, email, and mailing address. You must be an active SAH member.
The SAH member can borrow one item at a time.
Follow the same search and checkout procedures as found on this page.
The Museum will invoice the SAH member online for the mailer and USPS book rate for shipping. US destinations only. The borrower can reuse the mailer but is responsible for mailing the item back to the Museum.
The loan is for 30 days, plus one week each way for shipping, plus one renewal. Only books in at least good condition and easily found on Amazon for less than $250 are eligible for shipping. The Museum will invoice the borrower for any item not returned.
About the Robert and Sonia Turnquist Automobile Library
The Turnquist Library is named in honor of two Packard historians and friends of the Museum and consists of over 4,500 books with more are added on a regular basis. The collection focuses on published automotive books on brands, corporate history, models, design, racing, and technology. The books are in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and other languages. The Library actively collects titles that received awards from the Academie Bellecour, Antique Automobile Club of America, Independent Book Publishers Association, International Historic Motoring Awards, International Motor Press Association, Motor Press Guild, Motorworld, Royal Automobile Club, and the Society of Automotive Historians. The Turnquist Library does not collect manuals, sales literature, parts lists, or similar items other than for Packard.
America's Packard Museum follows all professional library cataloging standards, including Resource Description and Access, International Standard Bibliographic Description, and Library of Congress classification. Whenever they are available, links are provided to the digitized copies of the works in the Internet Archive, Google Books, HathiTrust, or other sources.
